Rowing Ireland is pleased to announce the details of the upcoming 1k Classic and Irish Rowing Championships, set to take place this summer.
Rowing Ireland 1K Classic
The 1k Classic will be held over two days this year, Saturday 28th, and Sunday 29th June, at the Lough Rinn Rowing Centre, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Following feedback from clubs, the organising committee has expanded the list of events available for the 2025 edition of the 1k Classic. A full list of events can be found here.
Irish Rowing Championships
The Irish Rowing Championships will take place from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July. As Junior 16 events are raced over 2k, these races will be incorporated into the Championship Regatta.
For the J16 1x & J16 2x events, a limit of three entries per club in each event will apply. For the J16 4x+ event, a limit of four entries per club will be enforced. In cases where 19 or more entries are received for an event, time trials will be used to determine the crews that progress to the final. The fastest 18 crews from the time trial will proceed to three heats, where the top two crews from each heat will qualify for the final. This is a change from previous years when the fastest six crews from the time trial advanced directly to the final. Full event details can be accessed here.
