Cork City Regatta enjoyed favorable conditions on Saturday, February 22nd, allowing for a well-run and competitive Head of the River event on The Marina. The 4km course, stretching from Horgan’s Quay to Blackrock Castle, saw participation from over 360 crews representing 18 clubs.

The event featured six fixed heads and one rolling head, with the six constituent clubs of Cork City Regatta providing over 80 volunteers to ensure smooth operations. Safety remained a top priority, with nine marshals on the water alongside a rescue rib.

While mid-morning conditions shifted, the senior fours benefited from favorable conditions, leading to an impressive performance by Cork Boat Club’s B crew. Their time of 11:18.6 secured them the Denis McSweeney Trophy for the fastest boat in the Head.
