The Get Going Get Rowing Munster Blitz took place this Thursday, 7th March, at the University of Limerick Sports Arena, drawing a record-breaking 228 teams and over 1,000 athletes. Competitors vied for the prestigious Winners’ Cups for Best Boys and Best Girls performances, with every entry contributing points to the leaderboard. As part of the ROWfit Blitzit Series, schools also had the chance to win two Concept2 rowing machines!
In the girls’ category, Castletroy College claimed victory, securing the Ailish Sheehan Champions Cup for the overall best girls’ team. Meanwhile, CBC Monkstown emerged triumphant in the boys’ category, taking home the Arthur O’Brien Champions Cup for the top men’s team.
Adding to the excitement, the athletes received a special medal presentation from High Performance Athletes Jake McCarthy, Brian Colsh, and Tiarnan O’Donnell — an unforgettable moment for all involved.
