Emily Hegarty
Emily won a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Four at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and in doing so made history with Eimear, Aifric and Fiona in winning Irish rowing’s first women’s Olympic Medal.
Emily was a member of the W4- that raced in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Emily won a silver medal at the 2021 European Championships in the W4-.
Emily’s highlights include winning a silver medal at the 2019 World U23 Rowing Championships in Sarasota and winning the Irish Rowing Championships. She also won Bronze in the 2020 European U23 Championships in Duisburg in the Women’s Pair.
Emily is from Skibbereen, County Cork, and started rowing in 2009. Emily graduated with a degree in physiology from UCC.
