At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he won bronze in the M2x alongside Daire Lynch, after qualifying the boat with a bronze medal at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

Earlier in 2024, Phil won silver at World Cup II and gold at World Cup III.

In 2021, he claimed silver in the M2x at the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne with Ronan Byrne.

Phil first made his mark on the international stage in 2019, when he and Ronan Byrne won silver at World Rowing Cup III in Rotterdam. The duo then repeated their success at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, securing silver and qualifying the boat for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Originally from Belfast, Phil started rowing in 2014 while studying Medicine at Queen’s University. He currently rows with Belfast Boat Club.
