With the current forecast looking good it’s likely that the March HP Trial will finally take place this coming weekend, March 15th and 16th. Below is some further information for clubs, coaches and athletes that are attending this weekend so please have a read through before racing this weekend.

Race Schedule

Friday

  • NRC open between 9am and 5pm for boat rigging. After 5pm trailers can come into the centre, but the compound will be closed. Please contact Clara (clara.obrien@rowingireland.ie) if your trailer will be arriving after 5pm.
  • Crews can paddle on the course on Friday afternoon between 1pm and 4:30pm. The course will be closed after that, and crews will not be able to launch. Please use the far slip as the ‘out’ slip and the middle slip as the ‘in’ slip. Crews must row up to the bridge outside of the lanes and when on the course use lanes 1 and 2 to go down and lanes 5 and 6 to head back up towards the bridge. No boats should be rowing in lanes 3 and 4 in any direction.

Saturday

  • 7:00am – NRC open
  • 7:50am – Weight check for lightweight athletes by the back stairs at the side of the NRC (same location as Champs)
  • 8:00am – Safety briefing outside the NRC boat bays
  • 8:10am – Volunteer briefing outside NRC boat bays
  • 9:00am – Race Session 1 (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • 2:00pm – Race Session 2 (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • Approx. 5:30pm – Sunday crews announced
  • 6:00pm – NRC Closed

Sunday

  • 7:00am – NRC open
  • 7:15am – Course open for pre-paddling in crews
  • 8:00am – Safety briefing outside the NRC boat bays
  • 8:10am – Volunteer briefing outside NRC boat bays
  • 9:00am – Race Session 1 (approx. 1.5 hours)
  • 2:00pm – Race Session 2 (approx. 1.5 hours)
  • 5:00pm – NRC Closed

Additional Information

  • Athletes must be in their club colours, and preferably club blades when racing.
  • The €10 entry fee must be paid on the Rowing Ireland website prior to racing.
  • A WhatsApp group will be used to communicate information throughout the weekend. You can join the group using this link HERE
  • A draft start list is attached below for Race Session 1. If there are any crews that need to be scratched or have been omitted from the start list please email Clara by 11am on Friday.
  • Toilets upstairs and downstairs in the NRC will be open however due to the large entry access to the changing rooms and gym areas are limited.
  • Boat racks are set up inside the compound and in the regatta field which can be used on a first come first served basis.
