Daily Safety Messages

Safety Starts with You
Safety on the water begins with individual responsibility. Whether you’re a coach, athlete, volunteer, or parent, you play a vital role in creating a safe environment. Let’s work together to embed a strong culture of safety in every club.

Safe Equipment, Safe Rowing
Before every session, check your boat, oars, and safety equipment. Proper maintenance and pre-row checks prevent accidents and ensure everyone returns safely. Safety isn’t just good practice—it’s essential.

Know the Water, Know the Risks
Understanding local conditions—weather, tides, and navigation routes—is crucial. Stay informed and follow club protocols. Respecting the water keeps our crews safe and our sport strong.

Coaches & Captains: Leading Safe Practice
Leadership matters. Coaches and captains set the standard for safety. Their commitment to planning, supervision, and emergency preparedness ensures a secure environment for all members.

Together for a Safer Sport

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s continue building a culture where safety is prioritised, respected, and reinforced—on and off the water. Together, we row safer and stronger.

You can view both of our safety week webinars here.

As the busy time of the year for rowing approaches we would remind everyone involved in our sport to stay safe and enjoy the rowing season.
